When she passed away in December of 2019, Danbury Hospital benefactor Pamela Morganti left a wonderful legacy gift to the Hospital. On Saturday, September 12, 2020, the Gold Garage was renamed as the Morganti Garage to permanently memorialize the lifelong commitment and dedication that Pamela and her husband, Robert, gave to the Hospital.

For more than 50 years, the Morgantis affection for Danbury Hospital was both personal and professional. The Morganti Group, a construction company founded by Robert’s family, worked to expand and renovate several buildings at the Hospital, including the Praxair Cancer Center, the Main Tower and the Duracell Center for Ambulatory Surgery. In July of 2008, Robert and Pamela made a leadership gift to Danbury Hospital and named the Robert J. and Pamela Morganti Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Ginger Moore, who worked for the company for 45 years and was a close friend of the family, comments, “The Morgantis had a very good relationship with Danbury Hospital all through the years. I think that is why they were so generous. Bob and Pam’s theory was to give back—and that, they did.”

Sharon Adams, President of Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital, notes, “I am grateful to the Morgantis and the living presence they have in all we do. Their professional commitment to quality construction decades ago provided us with state-of-the art-facilities that we continue to build upon to this day, helping us to attract outstanding medical and nursing staff. The Morganti Garage will be a daily reminder of the family’s generous and thoughtful spirit.”
